FARO TRIP 2005
We are setting off from a variety of locations including, Norwich, London and Canada (welcome aboard to Phil & Sis) and meeting up at the Tunnel. From Calais we will ride as follows:
Calais to Rouen Day 1
Rouen to Bordeaux Day 2
Bordeaux to Salamanca Day 3
Salamanca to Faro Day 4
Jon has booked hotels at each of the night stops so we can all be fresh in the mornings.
We have a volunteer to drive the Hawg Haven war bus in case of any minor breakdowns along the way. (any of you who ride a Harley tractor know that they look and sound the
It would be fair to point out at this stage that we are all riding together with a pace bike in the lead, lets make it a trip to remember and enjoy and all stick together. We will also deploy a lifesaver at the rear who can catch the pace bike in the event of an emergency or breakdown. Ther are some rules which we normally dont give a fuck for but need to enforce for this trip.
1/ We stick to the agreed group travel plan.
2/ Anyone not ready to leave in the mornings will be left behind.
3/ Beer stops in the evening are to be treated as beer stops, NO GETTING HAMMERED
4/ Hawg Haven have organised the trip as friends and as such bear no legal responsibility for any event which may take place.
Jon is bringing along a Marqee to put the bikes into when we reach the event.
The filth in Portugal are not at all forgiving when it comes to drink driving and speeding so it is simple, when we reach Faro if you are going to drink leave the bike in the tent or ride with someone who is not drinking.
We will have video cameras on a couple of the bikes for the duration of the trip so we will post a link to the video when we get back, also we will create a photo album which we will upload upon our return.
Enjoy the dream
We are not destined for this life for very long, make good use of the few moments of pleasure we have, Chase the dream every day
dogs danglies but you also need to be a proficient mechanic or very adept with chewing gum, tin cans and string) The plan would be to load the dead bike into the van untill we reach the nightstop and there try to repair it.
If for any reason the machine is not able to be repaired quickly then the owner will have to ride pillion with someone else and try to have it repaired in Faro. While we Know Jon and Nobby can work wonders on repairs it is their holiday as well so dont take the piss and plead with them to work on a bike for 8 hours.
